The Lifestory Research 2022 America's Most Trusted® Home Insurance Study is based on interviews with 13,948 customers chosen at random and surveyed about their experiences and opinions among the 13 largest home insurance brands.  The responses were then used to score each brand on an index scale, which Lifestory Research used to rank the brands from lowest score to highest score, or worst to best. The Lifestory Research 2022 America's Most Trusted® Home Insurance Study found the most trusted home insurance brand was State Farm. State Farm generated the best reviews and trust ratings among the most popular home insurance brands as rated by consumers. State Farm generated a Net Trust Quotient Score of 107.1 and the 5 Star Trust Rating. The average trust index score for all brands and all categories in the America's Most Trusted study is 100.

At Lifestory Research, we continually test and rate home insurance brands on their ability to capture the trust of the customers they serve.  The Net Trust Quotient Score is an objective ranking that identifies the home insurance brands most successful in putting their customers first and earning their trust.

The Lifestory Research America's Most Trusted® Study evaluates all types of home products, home builders, and home services yearly, from Home Builders to HVAC Systems to Tools to Kitchen Appliances. In the 2022 study, more than 50 product categories were surveyed. We score for trust, quality, brand recognition, and other brand equity measures for each brand. Scores are standardized across more than 500 brands and product segments included in the study and then rank-ordered within each product segment.

WHAT IS THE MOST RECOMMENDED HOME INSURANCE?

The America's Most Trusted® Study 2022 is based on interviews with people chosen at random and contacted between January 2021 and December 2021. To be considered, brands needed to receive enough survey responses to achieve a 95% confidence level with no more than a 2% margin of error.  The customer reviews of home insurance brands provide insights on how people see these top home insurance brands.

The brands that were found to be most recognized in the study were State Farm, USAA, Allstate, Farmers, MetLife, Liberty Mutual, Travelers, Nationwide, Harford, Progressive, Amica, American Family, and Chubb.  A list of all brands included in the 2022 America's Most Trusted® Study can be found on the 2022 Brand List on this website.

Survey participants evaluate their experiences with products of the largest brands in terms of market share and brand awareness. Questions in the survey assess home insurance brand trust, quality, positive and negative word of mouth, home insurance brand reputation, the most recommended home insurance brand, and other brand equity measures.
