WHAT IS AMERICA’S MOST TRUSTED MORTGAGE LENDER?

2023 Best Mortgage Lender

Obtaining a mortgage is at the center of purchasing a new home.  Mortgages allow you to buy a home or borrow money using the value of your existing home.  As interest rates change and demand changes in the housing market, mortgage lenders play an essential role for borrowers. Lenders assist in qualifying buyers and finding a mortgage that fits their needs.  As the market changes, it can be complicated to determine the best lenders in the market.  Do you know which mortgage lenders are considered the best lenders?  Do you know which mortgage lenders are trusted the most?

2023 America’s Most Trusted Study

Founded in 2011, Lifestory Research America's Most Trusted® study provides insight into how people shop for products based on trust. The consumer-driven data insights provided by this research are based on social and opinion science research practices that adhere to the highest quality standards.

Our annual surveys collect information about what consumers think and feel about different brand products, and we share insights once a year about which brands consumers most trust. In order for brands and companies to stand out from their competitors and peers, they must establish trust with their customers.

The rankings are based on the Net Trust Index Quotient Score as defined by three levels of consumer trust: Trust Advocates, Trust Neutral, and Trust Antagonists. Brands receiving the highest Net Trust Index Quotient Score are the most trusted brands among consumers in the product research study. Trust Advocates are expressing significant trust in a brand, while Trust Antagonists voice distrust.

What are the top mortgage lenders people trust the most?

2023 America’s Most Trusted Mortgage Lender

The Lifestory Research 2023 America’s Most Trusted® Mortgage Lender Study found Chase as the most trusted brand among people considering using a mortgage lender. With a Net Trust Quotient Score of 95.2, Chase had the highest trust rating among the most popular mortgage lenders.

The most trusted mortgage lenders, in order, were Chase, United Shore Financial Services, US Bank, Bank of America, Caliber Home Loans, Fairway Independent Mortgage, Wells Fargo, Quicken Loans/Rocket Mortgage, Freedom Mortgage, and LoanDepot.

Chase received the best reviews and trust ratings among the most popular mortgage lenders as judged by consumers. See the survey methodology and frequently asked questions for details.

The Lifestory Research 2023 America’s Most Trusted® Mortgage Lender ranking is based on 3,403 opinions of people surveyed between January and December in the United States.  Brands included in the final ranking were nationally recognized by people actively shopping for a mortgage lender.

If a mortgage lender had a low brand awareness and did not have enough brand judgments, these brands were excluded from the rankings.  To be considered, brands needed to receive enough survey responses to achieve a 95% confidence level with no more than a 3% margin of error.
