Lifestory Research is pleased to announce the results of the 2017 America’s Most Trusted® Active Adult Resort Builder Study. In its fifth year, Trilogy by Shea Homes has captured the top ranking for the fifth consecutive year among people over the age of 50 actively shopping for a new active adult resort home. Trilogy by Shea Homes is among the nation’s largest active adult lifestyle builders, selling homes in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington.

The study, based on the opinions of 9,030 consumers actively shopping for a new active adult home, tracks how trust influences those shopping for a new home. Consumer opinions are collected over the course of the prior 12 months in the largest home building markets in the United States. To qualify to participate in the study, participants must have indicated that they were aware of specific brands and actively shopping for a new home in an active adult community. Trust is measured through the Lifestory Research Net Trust Quotient Score in which each brand is evaluated in regards to trust by those shopping for a new active adult home. An index score of 100 is average for all brands included in the study.

Lifestory Research tracks the largest active adult builder brands in this ongoing study. The brands included in the ranking list are based upon those brands most recognized by consumers. Some brands included in the study are not represented in the list since they did not generate a brand awareness score high enough to be included. An Active adult home shopper are those indicating that they are seeking a community designed for people aged 55 or older in which there are a variety of lifestyle oriented amenities within the community.

What is an active adult community? Active adult communities often provide amenities that allow residents the ability to have an active social life and an abundance of amenities centered around a physically active lifestyle. Common amenities in an active adult community include clubhouses with social gathering spaces, fitness centers, restaurants, and learning centers. Outdoor amenities often offered in an active adult community consist of walking trails, swimming pools, court sports, and golf courses.
