The 2024 America’s Most Trusted Study

For over ten years, the America's Most Trusted® study has been a signal for brands seeking to understand the vital role of trust for consumers. A savvy brand acknowledges the direct link between consumer trust and business success. This study serves as the definitive benchmark of brand trust, keenly awaited by consumers and brand managers annually, with updated results published in January.

To ensure customers' return or repeat purchases, trust building is necessary. A brand's streaming media device reputation is determined by customers' confidence in the company's ability to deliver its promises. Consumers who trust a brand have a greater propensity to purchase and recommend it to others. Brand trust also contributes to customer loyalty, as they are more likely to remain loyal to the streaming media device brands they trust.

At the beginning of each year, Lifestory Research releases America’s Most Trusted® latest outcomes. We engage in more than 75 detailed product studies annually, gathering feedback from thousands of individuals about their perceptions and interactions with various brand products. Within this study, we gauge the level of trust individuals place in specific brands when making product choices, relying on our rigorously validated Net Trust Quotient Score.

Net Trust Quotient Scores (NTQS) are used to determine whether a product meets customer expectations compared to competing brands within a specific product category by assessing the level of trust customers hold for a particular brand within a particular product category. With this trust metric, consumer-driven insights are provided using social and opinion science research practices that adhere to the highest standards of consumer research.

What are the top streaming device brands people trust the most? To answer this question, the top streaming device brands were rated in the America’s Most Trusted Study. The study aims to identify the streaming device brands people trust by asking them to rate each brand within the product category.

Our streaming device ratings are crafted through a foundation of authentic perspectives, relying on the opinions of real individuals. Employing rigorous social scientific survey standards, we meticulously collect feedback, ensuring that our sample sizes are tailored to reflect our target audience's sentiments accurately. All our streaming device research findings exclusively hinge on the opinions expressed by participants who independently completed surveys as part of America's Most Trusted Research program. In determining the most trusted streaming device brands, we deliberately abstain from incorporating third-party reviews, editorial committees, or input from industry professionals. The Lifestory Research ratings, reviews, and awards are thus grounded in detailed survey feedback, drawing from the candid opinions and trust ratings of those engaged in our streaming device study.

2024 America’s Most Trusted Streaming Device

The Lifestory Research 2024 America’s Most Trusted® Streaming Device Study found Roku to be the most trusted brand among people considering the purchase of a streaming device. Brands included in the final ranking were determined by people actively shopping for a streaming device who rated the brands they were familiar with.

The Lifestory Research 2024 America’s Most Trusted® Streaming Device ranking is based on 3,484 opinions of people surveyed in the United States over the last 12 months.

With a Net Trust Quotient Score of 106.9, Roku had the highest trust rating among the most popular streaming device brands. The most trusted streaming device brands, in order, were Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, Apple TV, NVIDIA Shield, and TiVo Stream.

To be considered in our streaming device rankings, a brand must have a certain level of consumer recognition. This means that people should know about the streaming device brand and have formed opinions about it. If a streaming device brand lacks this recognition or enough feedback, it won't be included in our rankings. To make it into the rankings, a streaming device brand needs to have received many responses in our surveys. This is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of our results. We use a rigorous statistical approach, requiring a 95% confidence level with no more than a 3% margin of error. This means we can be highly certain that our consumer opinions reflect those of the surveyed population. In addition, we ensure that our sample size is large enough to guarantee the validity and reliability of the streaming device survey results. This ensures that our streaming device rankings are based on solid data and provides consumers and industry professionals with valuable insights.
