The 2024 America’s Most Trusted Study

Since its inception more than a decade ago, America's Most Trusted® has been a cornerstone in aiding brands to fathom the impact of trust on consumer shopping behavior. Understanding the profound connection between consumer trust and business outcomes is paramount for successful brands. Widely acknowledged as the definitive measure of brand trust, it is eagerly anticipated each year, with updated results released in January.

To ensure computer customers return or repeat purchases, trust building is necessary. Computer customers' confidence in the company's ability to deliver its promises determines a computer brand's reputation. Consumers who trust a brand have a greater propensity to purchase and recommend the computer brand to others. Brand trust also contributes to computer customer loyalty, as they are more likely to remain loyal to the computer brand they trust.

Each year of the study, Lifestory Research has shared the most recent results of the America’s Most Trusted® study. We conduct over 75 specific product studies annually, surveying thousands of people about their perceptions and experiences with different brand products. The study uses our validated Net Trust Quotient Score to measure how much people trust specific brands while shopping for a specific product.  

Net Trust Quotient Scores (NTQS) are used to determine whether a product meets customer expectations compared to competing brands within a specific product category by assessing the level of trust customers hold for a particular brand in a specific product category. With this trust metric, consumer-driven insights are provided using social and opinion science research practices that adhere to the highest standards of consumer research.

Lifestory Research's evaluations, reviews, and awards stem from meticulous survey feedback gathered from participants in our computer study. In the context of this research, personal computers refer to electronic devices designed for individual use, encompassing desktops, laptops, and similar computing devices. Our methodology deliberately excludes external influences such as third-party reviews, editorial committees, or industry professionals, underscoring our commitment to authenticity. 

When identifying the most trusted personal computer brands, we prioritize real individuals' unfiltered opinions and trust ratings. Our approach adheres to stringent social scientific survey standards, with sample sizes carefully designed to mirror the nuanced perspectives of our discerning target audience. Every aspect of our personal computer research findings is exclusively derived from the candid opinions of independent survey respondents within the framework of America's Most Trusted Research program.

2024 America’s Most Trusted Computer

The Lifestory Research 2024 America’s Most Trusted® Computer Study found Apple to be the most trusted brand among people considering the purchase of a computer. The Lifestory Research 2024 America’s Most Trusted® Computer ranking is based on 6,493 opinions of people surveyed in the United States over the last 12 months.  

With a Net Trust Quotient Score of 120.1, Apple had the highest trust rating among the most popular computer brands. This is the sixth year Apple captured the top trust rating in the annual study. Apple, HP, Microsoft, Dell, Samsung, Lenovo, Toshiba, Asus, and Acer were the most trusted computer brands.  

If a computer brand had low brand awareness and did not have enough brand judgments, they were excluded from the computer rankings based on the ranking criteria. Computer brands must have received enough survey responses to achieve a 95% confidence level with no more than a 3% margin of error to be included in the ranking. This confidence level is necessary to ensure that the results accurately reflect the opinions of the surveyed population about computer brands. The sample size must also be large enough to ensure the validity of the survey results.

The Lifestory Research America’s Most Trusted® research study actively surveys personal computer shoppers throughout the year in the United States. The study is focused on measuring consumers' opinions of the most recognized surveys personal computer brands in the market. In the study, consumers rate the quality of the surveys personal computer brand, their likelihood of recommending the surveys personal computer to others, how favorable they feel about the brand behind the surveys personal computer, how they rate the reputation of the surveys personal computer, and their trust in the surveys personal computer brand.
